PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

Document patient encounters, in real-time, within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, generate referral letters, manage and sort medical documents within the EMR. Assist Physician to increase efficiency and productivity. Anticipate Physician needs to facilitate the flow of the clinic.

 THIS POSITION WILL WORK IN PLYMOUTH, ROBBINSDALE & WACONIA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the physician, including but not limited to: patient medical history and physical exam, procedures and treatments performed by healthcare professionals and Physician-dictated diagnoses.
  • Create orders and instructions for patient or family members for self-care and follow-up.
  • Prepare referral letters as directed by the Physician.
  • Manage clerical tasks such as: dictation, faxing and phone calls. Research contact information for referring physicians, coordinate referrals, prepare operative reports, make phone calls, and other clerical tasks as assigned.
  • Collect and organize data for physician quality reporting system and other quality improvement efforts and format for submission.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/ABILITIES TO EFFECTIVELY PERFORM RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Incorporates the use of technology into day-to-day tasks by using Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, and Intergy (EPM and EHR) effectively and accurately.
  • Represents Minnesota Urology P.A. in a professional manner related to appearance, communication and the maintenance of patient and company confidentiality.
  • Effectively communicates and works efficiently with providers, patients, management, administration and staff.
  • Demonstrates proper grammar and spelling in documentation as well as the ability to write concisely, clearly and logically.
  • Aptitude to analyze work methods to effectively organize work, make improvements and correct problems.
  • Supports the goals and objectives of Minnesota Urology P.A.
  • Maintains consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team (be self-directed, energetic, motivated, driven and humble).

 

Qualifications/Education/Training/Licensure:

  • Sophomore level in college (or higher).
  • Degrees in the Sciences and Pre-health track preferred. 
  • Medical industry experience preferred.
  • Superior typing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
